NORTHSTAR
Northlight | 45 moons | Tom | Windclan | Leader
"Take the path Less traveled, you'll be better off in the end."
Black and white tom with icy blue eyes.
Appearance:
Fur
Northstar is a black and white tom. His fur is soft and short and is always being cleaned. He hates it when his white fur is dirty and so cleans it quite often. On his chest there is a symbol of a star and so his name fits him quite nicely in multiple ways. When his fur gets wet all of Starclan falls to earth and fire burns the leaves. His fur gets heavy when wet and so it is avoided. He looked alot like his lovely mother, Blacksnow, and yet looks alot like his father, Whitefur, in body build.
Body build
When it comes to his body he is strong and almost just as big as his father when he was a full warrior. Yet he is smaller then him because his mother was a small shecat. He has square shoulders and long legs. His paws are very Skyclanish being that they are rough at the bottom and filled with lots of fur. He is really good at jumping making that another well known skyclan trait. He has really strong back legs making it easier for him to jump to very high places. His tail is longer then his body and filled with black and white spots. One thing that Northstar hates is when his tail drags on the floor. He can't help but avoid that as well.
Eyes and other Traits
On his back there is a long scar from when he protected his mother from a fox before she died. The wound only left a scar for him to regret and remember the day with. His eyes are a deep blue color that shimmer in the moonlit sky. His whiskers are long and thin. His claws are sharp and also long. They could pierce a pelt, one, two, three, if messed with. His teeth are quite white despite living in the wild.
Persona:
OutsideR.spectfu.L
Northstar is always respectful to his clan. He almost always listens to other cats' ideas and suggestions. He respects the other clans as well. He loves it when others give their own oppinions. He believes it's his right. Even apprentices. He respects elders and their hard work and he %100 follows the warriorcode. He follows Starclan to his death and will be happy to join them.L.oya.L
Northstar is %100 Loyal to Starclan, Windclan, and the warriorcode. He is as loyal as you can get to a loyal cat. He cares too much for the clan of wind and so follows the code as much as possible. He tries very hard not to get into trouble with the other clans. On the other paw, he will do anything to keep his clan healthy. He is tough and will never tell a clan secret.T.rustworth.Y
Northstar is very trustworthy to just about any cat/clan. If you need to tell him a secret or something important that you need to get off your chest he is your cat. If your clan needs help with sickness, fire, or an attack of any kind he will be there lickity split! But if what you have to tell him does bad for his clan or goes way way way out of the warriorcode, he will stop you and not be afraid to do what is nessisary to make it not happen.T.ough and fir.M
Northstar is a tough cat when it comes to wrong doing. He hates it when cats do wrong. When wrong is done there is one of three sides that you will see. Water, Land, and desert. Soft and gentle makes what he calls his water side. His land side is what he challenges with, meaning he will ask questions to challenge the mind of the cat. His desert side is his firm and agressive side. If you see a really angry look on his face then you know you will see desert fall down to the dark forest. He will either talk firm to you or yell at you. He is not afraid to challenge any cat, even leaders. He also knows very well when to use each side and when to use another.
U.nderstandin.G
[/b]Northstar is an understanding cat. He understands when other are going through a hard time and will back off them for a while. He understands another cat's anger even the times that he doesn't like. He is very good at interpreting feelings of other cats. He understands wrong actions, sometimes even more then the wrong doer.
F.ai.R
Northstar is Fair. When bad things happen he gets both sides of the story. He gives fair punishments when they are needed. He listens to all oppinions and conciders them. He includes everyone except when he can't (ex. some need to stay in camp during a battle.) He listens to the WHOLE story. Everyone is equal in his eyes even if they do low things.
S.ill.Y
[/b]Northstar loves to make jokes and laugh! It is his favorite thing to do to make other cats smile. He can't stand it when cats are sad. If he had to 'accidentally' run himself into a tree he would have. Sometimes he just has to be sarcastic and say things that contridict another cat's thoughts just to be funny. He loves to sneek up on other cats to keep them on their toes and to have alittle play fight with them. Most of the time he has a good attitude.
Inside
N.ot perfec.T
Despite his "Perfect" outside, as some cats would describe, Northstar has many Flaws. Fear, Mistakes, Challenges. Northstar is a normal tom in a normal clan. When others call him "Perfect" Northstar flat out denys it.
S.ecret.S
[/b]Just like everyone Northstar has secrets. Not only his own, but others as well. Past happenings and current ambitions litter his mind and haunt his dream. If you knew this cat well you would know that he doesn't talk to anyone easily.
H.untin.G
[/b]Northstar was never very good at hunting and so hides it from everyone but his sister and old mentor. He will only go hunting if his sister comes along with him. Its not that he can't catch the prey by himself, the experience within itself almost feels like a battle field in his mind.
D.angerously smar.T
[/b]For some reason Northstar has unnatural knowledge. Almost as if Starclan gave him the gift when he was born. He kept it hidden from everyone thinking that someone might find it a bad oman for him. Sometimes he can go through strategies in his head within seconds. (sherlock homes if you aren't getting the point.) For NorthStar, this gift is dangerous and could get him killed by the other clans. On his part it is a very strong ability and could be used in a very bad way. The other clans may start thinking that he is plotting against the rest of the clans and starclan. Not even his parents, sister, or mentor know. His leader knew only because Northstar told him as he was an apprentice. He thought it to be an interesting quality that should be used in the right way.
History:
Before his-story[/i]
There was once a tom in Windclan that fell in Love with a loner she-cat. His name was whitefur and he was a snowy white tom with Amber eyes. He fell in love with a beautiful black and white she-cat named shade. He never thought that her name explained her look or her personality. Whitefur visited her every day for twon moons. He wasn't suspected at all. He was very good at keeping his exahstion and his 'hunting' Undercontrol. One night he found out that she was pregnant 8 sunrises after the last gathering. He was glad that he was going to be a father but that would mean having to be away from camp more.
He found himself staying away from shade more and more, and going on partols more and more. After awhile he became afraid and stopped visiting her all together. The night of the gathering while the leaders were debating about food, Whitefur came face to face with an angry shade. she was close to having her kits and angry as ever. He could see the hurt all over her, physical and emotional. That was the night that she kitted. The medicine cat and medicine cat apprentice of Thunderclan helpped. All of the gathering had to stop for this to happen. She had three kits. North, Cloud, and South.
Kithood
Once North was born his father brought them to an old foxhole. As he did he was silent. Shade too did not speek. North didn't know whether or not his father had actually told the clan that he was the father or he was just escorting out of his life forever. When he left North felt lonely for the very first time. He had liked all of the other eyes on him while he was at the gathering.
After a few sunrises of being in the hole at the edge of Windclan territory North's brother, Cloud, died from weakness. After that North and South became extremely sick. Shade ran out of milk for the kits to drink. For some reason North understood that his father was not coming back and he knew that his mother became sorrowful more each day. So North left home and started a small journey to the Windclan camp. He knew that they needed help even if it was from his father's clan.
After awhile North collapsed in front of a Windclan patrol. Whitefur was not on it. Yet a young brown apprentice named Falconpaw was. He was the cat who had seen him collapse in the first place. Him and the two other hunting warriors brought him back to the medicine cat's den. As the tom looked North over the kit explained about their current condition back at the old fox's den. The medicine cat recodnized him as he explained about the gathering and he mumbled something that North did not hear.
North, for once, was confused but he easily forgot it as he saw a fluffy white tail disappear around the corner of the den. His father had heard the whole conversation. The medicine cat also had noticed and had asked if North remembered him from the gathering night when he escorted him home. North lied and said no. The medicine cat looked disappointed or worried. It could have been both North realized.
After awhile shade and South also came to the medicine cat's den. For two moons the kits recovered and Shade as well. They stayed in the nursery for two more moons because of Leaf-bare. When the weather became warmer again Shade decided that it was time that she left Windclan and went back home to the old fox den. During their stay in Windclan North had noticed that Whitefur had become in love with a she-cat named Silverglow. North understood why Shade wanted to leave. North was happy to follow even if South was not.
They stayed on Windclan's border in the fox hole that they had lived in before. North all of a sudden felt very lonely. He missed the other two kits that he had played with and Falconpaw whom had visited him every day. After awhile North started to sneek out at night. He would walk the length of the Windclan border to the gathering place and back.
Shade noticed that he was getting more and more tired. She knew that something was wrong. She found him sneeking out one night and so she waited for him to return home. she stood in front of the den as he got home and she found out what he was doing. She knew that something had to be done before he got sick from staying up too late for too long. She brought her kits back to Windclan and endured the pain of once again seeing Whitefur with Silverglow. Whitefur seemed surprised. North and cloud became Northkit and Southkit. Shade became Blacksnow and she only stayed in the nursery. Northkit found that Falconpaw was now falconhunter.
Soon after joining Silverglow joined them in the nursery due to being heavy with kits. North was polite but he didn't like her very much. He was jealous.
Apprenticeship:
Upon being named Northpaw, Falconhunter became his mentor. Southpaw was being trained by Whitefur. She did not know that Whitefur was her father, but Northpaw did. Northpaw grew angry inside at his father. He did not show this anger to anyone but Falconhunter and Blacksnow. Both understood why. He did not care much about his father abandoning him, but more his mother and sister and dead brother. He often wondered if his dead younger brother went to Starclan because he was halfclan. Northpaw told Falconhunter many secrets that he could not even tell his mother.
Soon after Northpaw’s Third gathering as an apprentice Silverglow had three healthy kits. Freekit was the oldest and the smartest. Crimekit came next and he was tricky and strong. Butterflykit was the youngest and the weakest but she came through to be a sweet she-cat. They were different to Northpaw. He didn’t feel close to them. He felt separate from them. He knew they had done nothing wrong and they knew nothing of Whitefur’s past, but he hated them. While they were new born he was 8 moons old. To him they were just annoying. For some reason they found him more interesting then any cat in the clan and Northpaw Hated it. They would tackle his tail while he tried to nap. They would beg him to let them come out hunting. Crimekit would attack him out of no where and for some reason Northpaw never saw him coming. Northpaw couldn’t take it anymore! Then the rouges came from the mountains.
The rouges tried to take their territory many times and never succeeded. Northpaw fought them off almost every time there was a fight. He was strong and he was trusted by Whisperstar largely. One day while Falconhunter and Northpaw were hunting something happened. After he caught a mouse and two voles his memories blanked out and he didn’t remember anything from then till the night he woke in the medicine cat’s den the night before the next full moon gathering. All he knew when he woke up was that he was in the medicine cat’s den before the gathering, Whitefur was dead, Butterflykit was also in the medicine cat’s den, mute, and whenever he went out hunting it felt like a battle field. He couldn’t stand being out hunting in the forest without the feeling he was going to be attacked. Northpaw couldn’t figure out why. What had happened to him before the gathering? He only told Paintedpaw and Falconhunter. Neither of them told him what had happened but both sympathized about his incapability.
Closer then ever to being a warrior Northpaw tried hard to hunt. He would catch creatures here and there but would often have visions of battle during this. Sometimes it would be so bad that he would pass out only to find himself in the medicine cat’s den two or three days later. Rustleaf, the medicine cat knew exactly what was going on. He knew that Northpaw was having trouble with hunting and visions. He was a medicine cat and so was glad that he knew. He was also sympathetic to Northpaw and so he would try to help Northpaw by giving him hints about the visions and advice about the Hunting. Northpaw became a better hunter then he was after his wake up but he still wasn’t much better then the newer apprentices.
Even though he wasn’t much of a good hunter he was a great battle fighter. The last battle with the group of rouges he helped to send them running. He fought with the biggest and the strongest warrior of the rouges and he chased him off with his smarts. With this final battle Northpaw gained his warrior name. Although with this battle he lost his dearly beloved leader. He had fallen for her without even his own knowledge. Fallenstar became the new leader naming Falconhunter the new deputy.
Warriorlife:
Northlight came to love his new name very much. He treasured it and so would live up to it. He didn’t want his name to go to shame so he did whatever he could to live up to it. He always did what he was told by older warriors and couldn’t wait until he got his first apprentice to train. He just hoped that it wasn’t one of Whitefur’s other kits. Fallenstar also became fond of Northlight and so trusted him with all his lives. He would give him harder and more responsible tasks to do. He would send him to all the gatherings. He was almost like a senior warrior even though he wasn’t. He would give Fallenstar honest answers when it came to making decisions and they would work most of the time. Fallenstar and Falconhunter grew so fond of Northlight that he was given an apprentice very soon after becoming a warrior.
One moon after his naming ceremony Northlight got his first apprentice, though at first he was not happy about it. His new apprentice was Freepaw, Whitefur’s oldest kit. What had gotten into Fallenstar’s mind? Had the leader gone mad giving him one of Whitefur’s other kits? But Northlight was polite to Freepaw and showed no hostility toward him. Crimepaw became one of the other newer but older warriors named Pineshadow, whom was a really energetic cat. Butterflypaw was given to a she-cat named Clearsky, she was a noble and gentle warrior. She was perfect for the small frail she-cat to work with. Northlight told himself that he got lucky that it was the smart apprentice and not the really annoying energetic apprentice.
Northlight went to talk to Falconhunter about how he hated Fallenstar for giving Freepaw to him. Falconhunter was not happy and so scolded him telling him that it was the Windclan deputy’s idea. Northlight asked why and Falconhunter told him it was to help with getting rid of the hate for the kits and their father. Northlight was angry, but soon found that young Freepaw was a smart young apprentice who really made Northlight smile. Freepaw knew just what to say when times were hard and sad and he learned very quickly for his age and size. Northlight was impressed with him.
Though it still wasn’t enough to convince Northlight that Whitefur should be forgiven. He hoped greatly that Whitefur was judged by Starclan and that Whitefur looked down at him with shame knowing that he had hurt his family. Blacksnow was really proud of her son and daughter but knew that Northlight was having trouble training young Freepaw. She knew that Northlight thought a lot about his father and how cruel he was to the litter. So Blacksnow tried to do everything in her power to make him understand that hating his father would not help. She had forgiven the tom along time ago even though she knew that things with him would never be right again. That was his fault. But she tried harder then ever to soften his heart.
Finally Freepaw asked Northlight why he had the blue eyes that belonged to Whitefur the days before his death. Northlight answered him with the truth. He told him that Whitefur was his father too and what had happened at the time of his birth and upward. Freepaw was astonished at what he hurt but he was never mad at his mentor. He knew that there had been some type of connection between the two and so always wanted to be around Northlight. At this conversation Northlight grew softhearted for the young apprentices, but yet to care at all about Whitefur. He also found out that Butterflypaw had been told a message from Whitefur before the tom died. He had said “Two more will join you before you and flare would scar for moons to come.” Northlight had no idea what this had meant but he was now determined to find out.
He trained Freepaw hard from then on but the smart and strong apprentice did not mind for he had hoped for a challenging training from the very beginning. Northlight cared about Freepaw and so did everything in his power to make his a strong warrior. He also came to trust the young tom and would confide in him before he went to Falconhunter and Fallenstar. He had forgiven the two highly positioned cats and so came to realize that he wanted to be with them more and more with Freepaw with him every step of the way. Once Freepaw, Crimepaw, and Butterflypaw became warriors Northlight became lonely without a cat to train. Freefall, Crimeseeker, and Butterflywing had become fine warriors and so none of them really needed his help. Northlight hoped that soon he could get a new apprentice to train. But fate brought Northlight and Freefall together again. Freefall wanted more training from Northlight and wanted to be just as needed to the clan as Northlight was. Northlight agreed. He trained Freefall more but would keep so that they didn’t have sessions like the apprentices did. He would just take Freefall everywhere he went and Fallenstar let him.
Deputyship:
Then something horrible happened. A fight happened between Falconhunter and a rouge. Falconhunter lost his right, front leg in the fight and so had to move into the elders den. Fallenstar picked Northlight to be the new deputy of Windclan. Already Fallenstar had lost five lives in battles and to sickness. Northlight became afraid of this and became fearful of becoming the leader of all of Windclan, but he found comfort from within the clan. Southsea, Blacksnow, Freefall, Falconhunter, and even Silverglow supported him in this high position. Fallenstar taught him everything that he needed to know and even more. He knew that when it was time for him to be leader that he would be ready, but would he be ready to take the responsibility?
No longer was Northlight lonely and depressed because he didn’t have someone to share with but he now had the responsibility of the entire clan, under Fallenstar of coarse. He had many decisions and chores to perform and so it was impossible for him to feel lonely. Yet he also felt separated from the rest of his clan because he was in a higher position then them. He realized that soon he would become the leader and he would be more separated then even this.
It wasn’t long before Fallenstar used his last life on saving an apprentice named Shadowpaw from a badger that had wondered onto their territory. Northlight felt all the weight in the world fall on him in just about two heartbeats as he heard the young apprentice describe his death. He was now the leader of Windclan and he had to step up to the occasion. His clan needed him more now then ever in his lifetime.
